Today we saw a total of 48 drivers attempt to make the show, however, five of those drivers had to go home. Jeff Gordon was impressive, and grabbed his first career sprint cup pole at Texas Motor Speedway. Jeff Gordon attributed his setup to his teammate Dale Earnhardt Junior. Martin Truex Junior was also impressive and qualified in the second position.
